Shibuya LOVEZ Opens as Bandai Namco's First Owned Live Hall
Bandai Namco's first company-owned live hall opened in Shibuya on 27 June 2026, completing a construction project first announced in March 2025 as a vague "summer 2026" target. Shibuya LOVEZ, operated by Bandai Namco Base, sits on a 3,400 sqm site at 9-5 Udagawacho, a nine-minute walk from Shibuya Station, with a 2,000-person capacity across four above-ground floors and one basement level. The opening gives the Bandai Namco group a permanent venue for its own music acts and a rental hall for outside promoters in one of Tokyo's most contested entertainment districts.
The venue's name is built on the Bandai Namco group's "Fun for All into the Future" purpose, with the "Z" in LOVEZ standing in for that future-facing sentiment. The logo was designed by art director and photographer Teruhiko Tajima, whose previous work on Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor connects the venue's visual identity to anime and manga lineage that the group's labels, Lantis, Kiramune, and Sunrise Music, will draw on for their programming.
The Opening Series Lineup
The venue opened with a six-show series running late June through late July 2026, anchored by Bandai Namco Music Live's own rosters. T.M.Revolution played the opening night on 27 June, with Takanori Nishikawa following on 28 June. The Kiramune Happy Summer Tune showcase on 4 July brought voice actors Hiroshi Kamiya, Daisuke Namikawa, Hiroyuki Yoshino, and the IXIS unit. The 11 July show paired ASH DA HERO with PassCode under the MoooD Records banner.
The series continues with Lantis DAYZ on 18 and 19 July, pulling in idolmaster SideM, Egumi Megumi, Terashima Takuma, Nakamura Sogo, Furukawa Shin, and Morikubo Shoutarou, plus a Love Live! block with Nijigasaki and Hasunosora members. The closing weekend on 25 and 26 July is the HIGHWAY STAR PARTY 2026 meets LOVE"Z" event, a two-day run whose full artist-by-day lineup was published closer to the date.
What the Venue Actually Is
The building is a reinforced concrete structure with partial steel framing, designed by Sato Kogyo and a partner architectural firm, with 8,200 sqm of total floor area. The 2,000-person capacity is the headline number for standing concerts; seated configurations reduce it. The venue is multi-purpose, listed for concerts, theatre, recitals, and other events, which means it is not strictly a music hall and will book conferences and corporate events during off-peak weeks.
The location puts LOVEZ in direct competition with the established Shibuya live house circuit, WWW X and WWO across the district, and the larger Bunkamura and Tokyo Dome City Hall venues within a short transit ride. The difference is that LOVEZ is owned by a single music group with its own label rosters, which gives it a guaranteed programming pipeline through Lantis, Kiramune, Sunrise Music, and MoooD Records, rather than relying entirely on outside promoters.
Booking and Access
Tickets for the opening series are sold through the Information Desk ticketing platform and through individual artist fan club presales. The venue's own schedule page on shibuyalovez.jp lists confirmed shows month by month. For outside promoters, the venue is open to bookings beyond the Bandai Namco group's own use, with a dedicated organiser contact on the venue site.
The venue is a nine-minute walk from Shibuya Station's Hachiko exit, heading west through Center Gai and across Koen Dori. The closest specific exit is the Inokashira-dori underground exit, which drops you closer to Udagawacho than the main scramble crossing exit.
