About This Event / イベントについて
Shibuya was once a popular New Year's Eve countdown destination, but the ward now asks visitors to refrain from large street gatherings. The year-round roadside drinking ban (18:00–05:00) is strictly enforced during the New Year period.
Small individual activity continues, but there is no organized countdown event. For hatsumode (first shrine visit), Konno Hachimangu is the local option — a calmer alternative to the mega-shrines.
