About This Event / イベントについて
Konno Hachimangu is Shibuya's historic tutelary shrine — founded in 1024 and set on a quiet hill a few minutes behind Shibuya Station. For hatsumode (the first shrine visit of the New Year), it draws locals for three days of prayers, amulets, and sacred sake.
It's a calmer, more local alternative to the mega-shrines like Meiji Jingu. Expect food stalls on the approach path, a chance to draw an omikuji fortune for the year, and a striking view over the Shibuya skyline from the shrine grounds — a rare quiet pocket in the middle of the district.
