KAWAII Yoichi vol.1 (原宿可愛夜市) is the first-ever KAWAII night market, transforming the Tokyu Plaza Harajuku Harakado rooftop into a Harajuku-style summer festival after dark. Billed as "the night festival the world falls in love with — Japan's KAWAII," the event is produced with the KAWAII LAB. idol project and its character brand KAWAII FRIENDS, which decorates the venue with official characters appearing at carnival booths, photo spots and on limited goods. Each visitor picks one of seven colored tags on entry that drives light and sound installations, letting you "pick your KAWAII." The night session features photogenic lantern illuminations, the Kawarabu Ennichi carnival (shooting gallery, ring toss and more reimagined in KAWAII LAB. style), KAWAII food and drinks, and a goods store with event-only items. Day session (11:00-18:30, last entry 18:00) is free. Night session (19:00-22:00, last entry 21:30) is ticketed: early-bird ¥1,300, advance ¥1,500, day-of ¥1,600 (KAWAII Charge Passport). Tickets went on sale July 14. Note: August 28 (Fri) is a closed day; August 30 (Sun) closes at 18:00. The event runs alongside Harajuku Omotesando Genki-sai Super Yosakoi (Aug 29-30), so expect heavier crowds on the final weekend.
