渋谷ちかみち

Shibuya Chikamichi is an L-shaped underground passageway running roughly 370 metres from the Shibuya 109 building on the west side of Shibuya Station to Shibuya Hikarie on the east. Far more than a simple corridor, it has developed into a lively subterranean shopping arcade with fashion boutiques, accessory shops and casual eateries that make it something of a treasure hunt beneath the station. The passageway is a genuine time-saver for anyone crossing from one side of Shibuya to the other, sparing you the chaos of the scramble crossing and overhead train lines above. Along the way you will find the Shibuya Chikamichi Lounge, a rest space designed by celebrated photographer and artist Mika Ninagawa, whose vibrant aesthetic gives weary shoppers a colourful spot to sit and regroup. The Chikamichi is directly connected to multiple rail lines at Shibuya Station, including the Tokyu Toyoko, Den-en-toshi, Ginza, Hanzomon and Fukutoshin lines. It is typically open during station hours, and the lounge operates from 10:00 to 20:00.
