About Yoyogi Park
Yoyogi Park is the weekend park for this ward. It was an army drill ground, then Washington Heights, then the 1964 Olympic village, then a metropolitan park from 20 October 1967. Area A is forest and the central lawn. Area B (Jinnan) holds the stadiums, outdoor stage, and the urban sports park at yoyogi-cpark.com (skate 10:00–19:00). Entry is free. The grounds stay open. The service centre (03-3469-6081) and paid facilities close over 29 December–3 January. Weekends clog the street in front of the car park. Use the train. Do not treat this row as a mall. Pair it with Meiji Jingu, which shares the same forest.
