Google Japan 渋谷

Google Japan's headquarters moved into Shibuya Stream in 2019, with CEO Sundar Pichai personally inaugurating the new campus. The company occupies floors 14 through 35 of the tower, with a lobby reception on the fifth floor, representing a significant expansion of Google's presence in the country and a vote of confidence in Shibuya as a tech and business hub. Shibuya Stream itself is a mixed-use complex built above the former Tokyu Toyoko Line tracks, which were relocated underground as part of Shibuya's ongoing urban redevelopment. The building also houses the Excel Hotel Tokyu and various retail and dining spaces on its lower floors, creating a lively streetscape along the revitalised Shibuya River corridor. As a corporate office, Google Japan is not open to the general public, though the building's lower floors, restaurants and public spaces are freely accessible. The Google logo now prominently adorns the upper section of the tower, making it one of Shibuya's most recognisable new landmarks.
