About This Event / イベントについて
The 7th Shibuya Bon Odori is the headline traditional summer festival of Shibuya, returning on Saturday August 8, 2026. From 18:00, a wooden yagura tower rises in front of SHIBUYA109 and the surrounding Dogenzaka and Bunkamura-dori streets close to traffic (16:30 to 22:30) to become one of central Tokyo's largest pedestrian paradises dedicated to bon dancing.
Dancers circle the yagura to a playlist that mixes standards like Tokyo Ondo and Tanko Bushi with original Shibuya tunes such as Shibuya Ondo and Yumemiru Shibuya Ondo. Anyone can join the circle — no experience, no yukata required — and Shibuya's famously international crowd means you will be dancing beside locals, tourists and expats of every age.
Around the dance circle, a yatai zone fills the streets with classic festival games (shooting gallery, super-ball scooping) and a row of kitchen cars serving yakitori, yakisoba, kakigori and craft beer. The festival is held rain or shine and entry is completely free.

Tips / アドバイス
Arrive after 18:00 — the dance circle forms around the yagura in front of SHIBUYA109.
18:00以降に到着がおすすめ — SHIBUYA109前の櫓の周りに輪ができる。
Streets close to traffic from 16:30; the yatai zone opens early if you want to eat before dancing.
道路は16:30から交通規制。屋台から先に楽しみたいなら早めの到着も。
No yukata or experience needed — anyone can join the circle, and the international crowd makes it very welcoming.
浴衣不要・経験不問。誰でも輪に入れて、国際色豊かな参加者で安心。
Bring cash for food stalls; many kitchen cars are cashless but the classic yatai are cash-only.
屋台は現金対応の店が多いので小銭を用意。キッチンカーはキャッシュレス中心。
Closest exit is Shibuya Station Hachiko exit; the venue is the SHIBUYA109 front, a 2-minute walk.
最寄りは渋谷駅八重州口。SHIBUYA109前まで徒歩2分。
