SHIBUYA MIYASHITA PARK BON DANCE returns for a fourth year on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. Entry is free. Hours are 13:00 to 21:00 on the 4F lawn of Miyashita Park. The circle itself is booked for 17:50 to 19:20. Rain cancels the day. The organiser posts that call on Instagram @miyashitapark_bon_dance, not on a ticket site. Dates, address, and the price (zero) live on the event page. This note is about which day to pick, and when to actually stand in the ring.
The 90 minutes that matter
The lawn is open eight hours. The dance that the posters sell is 90 minutes. Arrive at 17:30 if you want a sightline on the yagura. Arrive at 13:00 if you have children and want the Gochamaze Playpark, the goldfish scoop, and the shooting gallery before the circle packs in. Arrive at 19:30 if you only want the night lights and a drink. The playpark is a JAKUETS and MAGNET collab. It is built for mixed ages, not for a DJ-only crowd.
Both days share Hocho Bisei, the Shibuya women's association, Takushoku University BLOOM crews (Onritsu, Yuzukoko Number), and NiD Academy STARS. Saturday adds UNO, ARICHANS, and Umiya. Sunday adds Pocasucajan, SPACESHIP, and HINA+SAE CREW. If you came for a live band in the circle, Sunday is the heavier live day. If you came for the university dance blocks, either day works.
Saturday DJs versus Sunday DJs
Saturday's booth is YonYon, Yona, AZTHA, and Yusuke Takayama. Sunday is YUUKA GIMA, Kotono Shirai, TSUNE, and chair Keisuke Baba. That split is the real calendar. YonYon on Saturday pulls a different floor than Baba closing Sunday. The official site still talks in slogans. The 26 August PR TIMES list is the sheet you actually use.
Food follows the same split. DJ BAR Bridge does yakisoba both days. chicken parade (鶏ノ群レ) does yakitori both days. or runs the official bar. PIZZA VAN is Saturday only: margherita, salsiccia, gorgonzola. Schmatz is Sunday only: sausage, potato, craft beer. If you want pizza on the lawn, it has to be Saturday. If you want a Schmatz sausage with the last DJ, it has to be Sunday.
RAYARD will hand out meal vouchers for about 30 restaurants and cafes in the complex, from racks on site, while they last. Use them after the circle, not before. The 4F lawn is a three-minute walk from Shibuya Station and an eight-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae. You can eat downstairs, then ride the park lifts back up.
What to wear, and the rain rule
Past years were a mix of yukata, happi, and whatever people wore to Center-gai. There is no dress code. The lawn is grass. Wear shoes you can dance in for 90 minutes. Free Garigari-kun samples, Gassan beer, HARIO glass, and a karaoke snack bar sit in the festival market. Craft Park on the side has haccoba sake, kakigori from Tsuruwo, and YUM NUB tacos. None of that needs a ticket. It does need cash or PayPay, depending on the stall. Check the stall before you queue.
Rain, including a forecast that looks bad at noon, can kill the day. Screenshot the Instagram the morning of. There is no indoor backup on 4F. Meiji-dori Miyashita Park Shoutenkai runs it, with Shibuya City, the tourist association, and Shibuya Future Design as backers. Fourth year. Same lawn. The difference this time is the published DJ split and the Saturday-only pizza van. Dates again: 26 and 27 September, 13:00 to 21:00, circle 17:50 to 19:20. Full facts sit on the event listing.
