The 49th Kuminn no Hiroba Furusato Shibuya Festival is Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026, 10:00 to 16:00, rain or shine, at Yoyogi Park Event Square, the paths, the outdoor stage, the ball fields, and the basketball court. Free. The ward news of 15 October 2026 used the line 渋谷に集まれ！ここは多彩な文化のスクランブルマルシェ. That scramble is a copy metaphor. The venue is the park north of the station, the one locals already use for picnics. Tourists who stay at Hachiko that weekend will miss it. That is the usual pattern. This note is for the other walk.
Saturday morning is a parade, not a scramble photo
09:30 to 11:30 on Saturday, youth groups with instruments walk the park edge. Inokashira-dori and Koen-dori take traffic control. Hachiko Bus detours. If you thought you would taxi to the lawn, read the special site map first. The rest of the two days is tents: ward clubs, sister cities Honolulu, Miraflores in Lima, Üsküdar in Istanbul, and domestic partners including Chino in Nagano. Stamp rally for saplings and city goods. Go, shogi, mahjong in E zone. A recycle and food-drive desk in G zone takes dishes, pans, stuffed toys, and unopened food with a month of shelf life. Game consoles, picture books, Japanese dolls, and dirty items stay home.
Saturday extras the ward named: Akita dog from 13:00, Tokyo Sankyu Phoenix and Ricoh Black Rams rugby, K-1, a street-sports project. Sunday: ice sculpture in C zone, apples from Iida in G zone while they last, pony brushing and timed rides, FC Tokyo, Sunrockers Tokyo, Alvark Tokyo, TOKYO DIME. Stages are local choirs, dance, Awa odori, Shorinji kempo, kappore. Harajuku Gate Stage has a running order on shibuya-fes.online. None of that is a costume at the crossing.
How locals actually spend the weekend
People who live in the ward bring children, eat sister-city food, watch a school band, and leave at 16:00. They do not treat Yoyogi as a warm-up for Center-gai. The drinking ban around the station still starts at 18:00. This festival is already over by then. No parking and no bike park inside the site. Yoyogi-Koen, Harajuku, Meiji-jingumae, or Yoyogi-Hachiman. The east side of the station is a different weekend: Shibuya Art Festival week is 2 to 8 November at Hikarie, Miyashita, Sakura Stage. The last two days overlap. Do not expect BE STAGE hours to match a civic tent field.
Earth Garden Autumn has already used the same park on 24 and 25 October. Tokyo Night Market is on Keyaki Namiki 21 to 25 October. StreetDance Week is 23 November, later.
