Hachiful SHIBUYA meets 秋田

Hachiful SHIBUYA meets AKITA is a concept shop on the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square that bridges the story of Hachiko, Tokyo's most loyal dog, with the culture and produce of his birthplace, Akita Prefecture. Opened in November 2021 and operated by Akita Cable Television, the shop is as much a regional revitalisation project as it is a retail space. Inside, visitors will find over 50 kinds of Akita souvenirs and speciality products, from instant kiritanpo soup and local sake to traditional crafts and adorable Akita-inu themed packaging. Exclusive collaborations with Akita-based companies mean you will spot items here that simply are not available elsewhere in Tokyo, including seasonal cakes, tote bags and stationery. The shop is directly accessible from Shibuya Station via exit B6. Given its location on Scramble Square's restaurant floor, it is well worth combining with a meal and the panoramic views from the same level. The store also runs an online shop for those who want to reorder favourites after returning home.
