About This Event / イベントについて
Yoyogi Hachimangu, the tutelary shrine of Yoyogi, holds its reitaisai on 22 and 23 September regardless of weekday — confirmed on the shrine's own annual-events page. For 2026 that is Tuesday 22 September (yoi-miya) and Wednesday 23 September (the national Autumnal Equinox holiday, the main day).
Both days the precincts fill with more than a hundred stalls. Parish mutsumi associations carry town mikoshi through Yoyogi-Hachiman and Yoyogi-Uehara streets; the 22nd emphasises children's mikoshi and stage entertainment from late afternoon, while the 23rd brings adult mikoshi into the shrine and Jindai kagura.
Admission is free. The shrine warns of traffic controls and forbids nuisance parking on nearby streets. Nearest stations are Yoyogi-Hachiman (Odakyu) and Yoyogi-Koen (Chiyoda Line).

23 September is the day to see adult mikoshi arriving at the shrine.
町神輿の宮入りを見るなら23日。
Wear shoes that can handle gravel and crowds on the slope.
坂と砂利なので歩きやすい靴で。
Do not park on residential streets; use Odakyu or Chiyoda Line.
近隣路上駐車は厳禁。小田急か千代田線を利用。
Combine with a walk through Yoyogi Park, 10 minutes east.
東へ徒歩10分で代々木公園。
