A free rooftop garden atop Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku offering leafy respite and sweeping views over Omotesando.

Omohara Forest is a verdant rooftop garden perched on the sixth floor of the Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku building, right on the cusp of Shibuya and Harajuku. This open-air haven is filled with greenery, timber decking and comfortable seating, making it a surprisingly tranquil escape from the bustle below. Admission is entirely free, and visitors are welcome to linger without purchasing anything at all.

The space is planted with a thoughtful mix of trees, shrubs and seasonal flowers that shift in character throughout the year. A Starbucks on-site means you can grab a coffee and settle into one of the many benches whilst taking in panoramic views across Omotesando, Harajuku and the Tokyo skyline. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, which makes it a handy spot for a quiet work session or simply catching your breath.

Omohara Forest is open daily from 8:30 to 22:00, with irregular closing days. It is easily reached from Harajuku Station or Meiji-jingumae Station, both just a short walk away. Whether you visit for a sunrise coffee or an evening panorama, it is one of central Tokyo's most agreeable hidden gems.
