TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE at Shibuya, Tokyo

One of Shibuya's largest bookshops, TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE stocks an impressive range of titles alongside a cosy cafe and lounge on the Sakura Stage fourth floor.

TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Shibuya Sakura Stage is one of the biggest bookshops in the Shibuya area, spanning roughly 725 square metres of retail space on the fourth floor of the SHIBUYA Side of Sakura Stage. Opened in July 2024, it carries a wide-ranging selection of Japanese and international books, magazines and stationery, thoughtfully arranged to encourage browsing.

The store shares its floor with the SHARE LOUNGE, a spacious 180-seat cafe and workspace where visitors can read newly purchased books over a coffee or light meal. Together with the art community space re-search on the same floor, the venue functions as a cultural hub rather than a simple bookshop, hosting events and exhibitions that reflect TSUTAYA's trademark blend of retail and lifestyle.

Located right next to Shibuya Station's Shin-Minamiguchi ticket gate, the shop is open from 8:00 to 23:00, making it a handy stop for early risers and late-night readers alike. The building itself is part of the large-scale Shibuya Sakura Stage development on Sakuragaoka Hill, easily reached via the Sakura Stage pedestrian deck.
