Ground Y's conceptual fashion store at Laforet Harajuku, offering Yohji Yamamoto's genderless, ageless label in a striking minimalist space.
Ground Y is a contemporary label under the Yohji Yamamoto umbrella that explores new possibilities in fashion through a lens of genderless, ageless design. The Laforet Harajuku store, situated on the ground floor of the iconic department store, presents collections that filter Yamamoto's avant-garde sensibility through a more accessible, everyday framework, resulting in pieces that feel both radical and wearable.
The boutique carries the full Ground Y range, including outerwear, knitwear, jersey pieces and accessories, often featuring bold graphic elements and unexpected fabric combinations. Collaborations with artists and cultural institutions are a recurring feature, and the store periodically offers limited-edition items exclusive to the Laforet location. The interior itself mirrors the brand's minimalist ethos, with clean surfaces and considered lighting that highlight the textures and construction of each garment.
Laforet Harajuku is easily accessible from Meiji-jingumae Station or a short walk from Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line. The store is open from 11:00 to 20:00 and is a must-visit for those interested in Japanese fashion that pushes boundaries while remaining grounded in real-world dressing.

Went into Laforet just to look around and didn't know there was a Ground Y located here. Ended up spending a lot of time trying on a bunch of stuff. My two friends and I all left with some great pieces. Thank you, Otsuka-san, for spending the time with us and helping us. Much love from your Canadian boys!

This is more of a review for Wildside (the other Yohji Yamamoto store next to this one, which isn't on Google Maps). I had an outstanding experience with the manager Yasuke today. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the collection.

Went to revisit one of my favorite stores at my favorite location, all because Otsuka-san and the whole team are always so patient and helpful in trying to perfect my Yohji-inspired outfit. They showed great knowledge of all the fabrics and styles.

I casually entered the store and discovered a bag I had previously seen online. The tall male staff member who helped me was very kind and thoroughly explained the after-sales care. As a first-time buyer of this brand, I had a very enjoyable shopping experience. The employee''s fashion sense was also commendable. I have other items of interest, and although there is a branch near my residence, I prefer to purchase at the Laforet store.
